The Volusia County Community Assistance Division (VCCAD) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The VCCAD last accepted Section 8 HCV applications for this waiting list for one day on March 24, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Has disabilities, is 62 or older or is homeless
  • Is a victim of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or stalking
  • Has been terminated from the county’s Section 8 program due to insufficient program funding
  • Has received temporary housing assistance from the county’s Section 8 program
  • Is employed at least 30 hours a week for the six months before submitting the application, and those working an average of 20 hours a week and attending school or job training for 10 or more hours a week

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences.

Please note: According to the VCCAD, this waiting list is "for non-elderly disabled individuals/families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of being homeless. To qualify for the available preferences, individuals and families must provide supportive documentation of age and disability."
