The Weatherford Housing Authority (WHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program waiting list is currently open. This waiting list is open indefinitely.
There are three ways to apply:
Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the WHA office at the address above, from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm; and 1:30 pm until 5:00 pm, on Tuesdays only. The WHA does have a drop box, but applications are not accepted in the drop box. It must be delivered to a WHA representative.

A waiting list sorted by date and time orders applicants who are selected for the waiting list by the date and time the housing authority receives the application. Those who apply earlier will generally be placed higher on the waiting list.

The following data describes the economic and demographic characteristics of renters who have a Section or project-based voucher issued by Weatherford Housing Authority.

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program pays 70% of the cost of rent plus utilities for any household receiving the housing assistance.
For the Weatherford Housing Authority Section 8 program, the federal government is providing, on average, $756 per month to each household, for an average annual cost of $9,072. The program as a whole is paying landlords $348,516 per month, for an annual economic benefit to landlords of $4,182,192

19% of Weatherford Housing Authority Section 8 HCV program households have a minority head of household who is Black, Native American, Asian or Pacific Islander; or of Hispanic ethnicity.
