This waiting list is for Other Project Based rental housing assistance in Gainesville, Georgia.

The Gainesville Housing Authority (GHA) Project Based Rental Assistance waiting list for apartments at Midtown Villages at Butler, Collins, Melrose, Mill, Rainey, and Summit is currently open. Applications are being accepted from January 2, 2020, until further notice.

  • Midtown Villages at Butler is located at 1170 Athens Road, Gainesville, GA 30501 (22 units)
  • Midtown Villages at Collins is located at 1021 Collins Circle, Gainesville, GA 30501 (6 units)
  • Midtown Villages at Melrose is located at 854 Davis Street, Gainesville, GA.(114 apartments) 
  • Midtown Villages at Mill is located at 1155 Mill St. Gainesville, GA 30501 (28 units)
  • Midtown Villages at Rainey is located at 926 Rainey St., Gainesville, GA 30501 (12 units) 
  • Midtown Villages at Summit is located at 835 Summit Street SW, Gainesville, GA 30501 (18 units)

To apply during the opening period, complete the online application. Select the "Melrose Redevelopment" waiting list.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Category 1: Working families as defined by those families whose Head of Household and/or Spouse have been working full-time (35 hours/week) for a minimum period of 9 months (documented wage earnings). Applicants whose head of household or Spouse are elderly and/or disabled will qualify for this reference and will be given additional preference for 1 bedroom units over other families. Those who have been Involuntarily Displaced due to a Federally Declared Disaster.
  • Category 2: Working Family. At least one family member (must be family head or spouse) who is employed at least 15 hours per week (9 months of documented wage earnings) or enrolled in a secondary education program full-time.
  • Category 3: The Head of Household or Married Spouse is actively participating in a family treatment court including Drug/DUI courts, and/or Juvenile Courts Recovery Program and Mental Health services. These individuals must have provided documentation demonstrating progress towards meeting goals and remaining actively involved in their Court Ordered Counseling (A referral form will be required from the courts). Veterans and veteran’s families and those who live and/or work in Hall County. Youth in foster care that have aged out and are continuing education and job training through DFCS program. Victims of Domestic Violence who have actively participating for 60 days in a residential Domestic Violence Shelter.
  • Category 4: All other eligible applicants.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

Preferences are not required but Project-Based applicants that meet these criteria will be moved up the waiting list.
