The Housing Authority of the City of National City (HACNC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until further notice.

Please note: According to the HACNC, this waiting list is only open, "You must be either a low-income senior citizen 62 years of age or older, a low-income disabled individual, or a low-income family with dependent child(ren), wherein the head of the household or spouse lives or works in National City."

There are two ways to apply

  1. Download a print the pre-application on the HACNC website. The pre-application is available in English and Spanish. The links can be found in the middle of the page, titled "Application in English" and "Application in Spanish."
  2. Call the HACNC office at (619) 336-4254 from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm PT, Monday-Thursday, to have a pre-application mailed to you.

The HACNC has identified the following preferences: Live or work in National City, families with children, disabled, elderly (62+).

Once the pre-application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered tto the HACNC office, located at 140 E. 12th Street, Suite B, National City, CA 91950, during normal office hours.

Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list.
