The Newkirk Housing Authority (NHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.The NHA offers one Public Housing community with 46 units for families and senior/disabled households, ranging in size from 1 to 3 bedrooms.To apply, visit the NHA to pick up a pre-application, located at  311 N Main St., Newkirk, OK 74647, from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm CT, Monday-Friday.Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, Monday-Friday; or put it through the mail slot on the front door.Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all adult household members, and proof of all income.The NHA does not have a preference.Applicants will receive a confirmation number upon submitting the pre-application. It is important to keep that number in a safe, easy to access place. It will be needed any time when referencing your pre-application with the housing authority.Qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the pre-application is received.For more information, call the NHA office at (580) 362-3167 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
