This waiting list is for Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Rockland County, New York.

The Rockland County Department of Social Services (RCDSS) is accepting Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from May 13, 2024 at 8:00 am, until May 24, 2024 at 5:00 pm ET. This is the first time the waiting list has been open since it closed in July, 2021.

Please note: According to the DSS, "To be eligible for this application, a person must be:

  • Under 62 years of age
  • Disabled, and
  • Homeless, at risk of homelessness or transitioning out of segregated care"

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

300 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery.
